Join us for a fun-filled morning at the beautiful Minnie Water Beach as our Nippers hit the sand and surf for another exciting day of surf lifesaving fun! ☀️
🏖️ What’s a Typical Nippers Day?
A Nippers morning is all about learning, teamwork, and beach fun!
Expect a mix of games, skill-building, and friendly competition, including:
🏃♀️ Beach sprints
🏁 Flags
🌊 Wading
🏄♂️ Board paddling
⚡ And plenty of laughter along the way!
⏰ Getting Started
Please arrive between 8:30–9:00am so we can get everyone ready for a 9:30am start.
The morning begins with:
- A group assembly and safety briefing (including today’s beach conditions)
- Meeting your Age Manager
- Name check-off for attendance
- Uniform check — Club cap and rash vest are essential safety requirements!
- Don’t forget your water bottle, sunscreen, and a big smile! 😎
🍔 Wrap-Up & BBQ
After the activities, we’ll finish the morning with a social BBQ — a great chance to relax, chat, and celebrate the day’s efforts aiming to get away by 1pm
👨👩👧 What About Parents?
We love parent involvement — Nippers can’t happen without you!
Parents must stay at the beach and are encouraged to lend a hand with:
- Setup or pack-up duties
- Helping with BBQ or shade shelters
- Supporting Age Managers
Remember, we’re all volunteers, and many hands make light work!

- 📻 Radio operation
- 🏖️ Age Managing
If you’d like to assist in the water, you can complete Water Safety training through the Surf Rescue Certificate or Bronze Medallion.
💪 How You Can Help on the Day
- Assist with equipment setup and raking the sand for activities
- Help assemble and pack down the shade shelters
- Join the BBQ crew — we always welcome cooks and servers!
